Individual volunteer opportunities
CONSTRUCTION
We need volunteers at our construction sites Wednesday through Saturdays. Volunteers complete 90% of our labor, so jobs vary based on site and timeline. All current volunteer construction opportunities are listed on our Volunteer Hub page.
Volunteers looking to commit more than one day are encouraged to apply to be a Regular volunteer and/or join our construction internship program, which lasts 8-12 weeks.
To work on a Habitat construction site, all volunteers must be 16 years of age and older. If you are under 16, but still want to suppport Habitat GSF, check out ideas on the youth web page.
NEIGHBORHOOD REVITALIZATION INITIATIVE
The Neighborhood Revitalziation Initiative (NRI) program is Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco's long term commitment to building community in partnership with other organizations. NRI projects vary from park beautification days to community facility repair. Starting on March 1, 2013, we will be partnering with the non-profit organization, Project WeHOPE, to build a shelter for homeless families and individuals East Palo Alto. Park beautification projects are also hosted in San Francisco's Bayview neighborhood every fourth Saturday of the month. To sign up for an NRI project, check Volunteer Hub for available dates and locations.
THE RESTORE
The ReStore is a retail store and social enterprise in San Carlos that allows us to raise more funds for building homes. The ReStore relies on volunteers to help with inventory, sales, organization, administrative duties and more. All volunteers must be 16 years of age or older. Sign up now on Volunteer Hub or learn more about the ReStore’s unique volunteer opportunities.
Habitat Greater San Francisco is committed to diversity within our organization. We actively encourage and recruit staff and volunteers who represent various gender identifications and ethnic and cultural differences.
