Individual volunteer opportunities
We need volunteers at our construction sites, including Habitat Terrace, in San Francisco and our newest development, Mt. Burdell Place, in Novato.
Volunteers complete 85% of our total labor and specific daily jobs vary based on site and timeline. You can expect to work hard, meet new people and learn new skills! Please visit Volunteer Hub to access more details about our current projects, see which days are at capacity and to sign up to build with us!
Volunteers looking to commit more than one day are encouraged to apply to be a Regular volunteer and/or join our construction internship program, which lasts 8-12 weeks.
To work on a Habitat construction site, all volunteers must be 16 years of age and older. If you are under 16, but still want to support Habitat Greater San Francisco, find ideas on our youth web page.
The Neighborhood Revitalization (NR) program is Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco's long term commitment to building community in partnership with other organizations. Volunteers on NRI Projects may be involved in residential or community facility repairs in our focus neighborhoods in San Francisco and East Palo Alto. Park beautification projects are also hosted in San Francisco's Bayview neighborhood every fourth Saturday of the month. To sign up for an NRI project, check Volunteer Hub for available dates and locations.
The ReStore is a retail store and social enterprise in San Carlos that allows us to raise more funds for building homes. The ReStore relies on volunteers to help with inventory, sales, organization, administrative duties and more. All volunteers must be 16 years of age or older. Sign up now on Volunteer Hub or learn more about the ReStore’s unique volunteer opportunities.
Habitat Greater San Francisco is committed to diversity within our organization. We actively encourage and recruit staff and volunteers who represent various gender identifications and ethnic and cultural differences.
