As a ReStore volunteer, you’ll work hard, have fun and do a whole lot of good!
We’re successful because of our wonderful volunteers, and we’d love to have you join us. Not only will you be doing a great community service (without needing a hammer!), you’ll become part of the ReStore family.
Our volunteers help us keep our overhead low and raise more funds for Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco. In fact, thanks to our hard-working volunteers, we raised more than $1,200,000 from June, 2013 through June, 2014, and we've become one of the top producing Habitat ReStores in the country in just over two years.
We welcome both one-time and regular volunteers, and volunteer shifts are available Tuesday through Saturday: 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. or 10am to 5:30pm. All volunteers must be at least 16 years old (those under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver).
You’ll find the position descriptions below for our regular volunteers. For most of these positions, you'll need to come by for a ReStore Regular Orientation before you start volunteering.
If you would like to volunteer just for a day or an afternoon, we always need help with sorting and processing incoming donations. No orientation required! To sign up, just head over to our Volunteer Hub page.
We also host volunteer groups who help our staff and regular volunteers with the daily operations of the store. To schedule a group volunteer day at the ReStore, please complete our group interest form.

Community Service Volunteer
The Habitat ReStore always welcomes help from community service volunteers, including students needing to complete hours for school and people that have been convicted of nonviolent crimes and ordered by the courts to complete service hours.
Please review our Community Service Welcome Packet (PDF file). Contact Sally Martinez at 650-847-4000 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions. On your first day you will need to show a photo ID and submit your paperwork.

These volunteers have an eye for retail. They create visually attractive displays and vignettes throughout the store, ensuring a fun and pleasant shopping experience.
