Meet Our New CEO

It is truly a pleasure to officially be on board at Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco!

Habitat has been near and dear to my heart for many years. I first volunteered with the organization in New Orleans after Katrina and this experience left a lasting impression on me.

I later became a local Habitat volunteer and as a longtime Bay Area resident, I have always believed in our affiliate’s founding principles and mission to keep hard-working families in the communities they know and love. Social justice work has been woven into the fabric of my being and subsequently my career for the past 30 years, and I could not imagine a better organization to serve.

My time here has already had a tremendous impact on me. I have met Habitat families who are thriving, visited the areas where our Neighborhood Revitalization efforts have transformed communities, and have seen the incredible progress made at our current developments, where the dream of homeownership will soon be a reality for our neighbors.

I’ve been living in the Bay Area for more than 30 years and my connection and dedication to this region runs deep. I have seen first-hand the devastating effects of the housing affordability crisis where the backbone of our workforce – teachers, medical assistants, financial analysts, first-responders – are continually displaced from our vibrant community. While the challenge in our region is great, never before has Habitat’s work been more relevant and needed.

We are at an exciting moment in time where we have an opportunity to permanently change the course for struggling Bay Area families. Our vision for the future sets the framework for this to become a reality.

By 2020, we are executing on an ambitious vision to double our homebuilding efforts and increase our neighborhood revitalization efforts tenfold in East Palo Alto and in San Francisco’s Bayview neighborhood by restoring local parks, renovating community facilities and delivering critical home repairs.

We have an inspiring road ahead, and I am convinced that Habitat’s unparalleled ingenuity will help more Bay Area families own and sustain affordable homes and set our neighbors on a path to financial security.

I look forward to embarking on this exciting journey with you!

With enthusiasm,
