Volunteer to Build with Pride
Or join us for Building Blocks on Thursday, June 15 and Friday, June 16! Habitat is proud to partner with the LGBTQ community and allies. To celebrate San Francisco Pride, we’ll host a special volunteer opportunity on day three of our three-day blitz build known as Habitat Building Blocks.
In 1991, Steve Jacoby took the first steps toward bringing Habitat for Humanity to San Francisco. He died from AIDS before ever seeing the organization incorporated, but without his vision and work, Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco would not exist today.
We honor his memory with the fourth annual Stephen Blake Jacoby Memorial Build with Pride. Join members and allies of the LGBTQ community for this unique volunteer experience strengthening communities right here in the Bay Area.
Volunteers will rebuild fences, repair decks, paint houses, landscape yards and make other safety and accessibility improvements for long-time homeowners in the Bayview. Volunteers can also improve a local park, helping ensure that neighbors have access to vital health, community and quality of life benefits.
Saturday, June 17, 8:30am to 1:00pm
Followed by a lunchtime celebration!
