Join our Growing Community of Regular Volunteers!

Want to build an even bigger impact?

Our regular volunteers are huge supporters of our work. While they make up just 1% of our volunteer base, they contribute nearly 20% of the volunteer hours! Our regular volunteers enjoy the following benefits:

  • Volunteering a minimum of 2 times per month.
  • More flexible scheduling - no online sign-up needed!
  • Skipping the morning orientations.
  • Perfecting skills over time.
  • Getting to know other committed regular volunteers.
  • Earning milestone gifts, such as green hard hats at construction sites and t-shirts at the ReStore.

To become a regular Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco volunteer, sign up for your first volunteer day online, then speak with the superintendent on site. Give back to your community while developing valuable skills. Our internships offer unique opportunities to learn a trade while contributing to a good cause!

  • Qualifications: Participants must be at least 17 years old to apply.
  • Duration: Internships are 3 days per week for 12 weeks or 4 days per week for 8 weeks. The work week is Tuesday-Saturday.
  • Upon the successful completion of an internship, all interns will receive a Certificate of Completion from Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco

Mt. Burdell Place

  • A 10 single-family home development.
  • Location: 1112 4th Street, Novato, only a few blocks from downtown Novato.
  • Schedule: Workdays are from 7:30am-4:00pm, Tuesdays-Saturdays.
General Construction
  • Locations: Available at Mt. Burdell Place (Novato).
  • Qualifications: No experience necessary.
  • Description: Receive a general introduction to residential, wood-framed construction.  Interns are trained in safe use of basic power tools, framing, siding, window installation, roofing, painting and other various construction skills.
Construction Leadership
  • Locations: Available at Mt. Burdell Place (Novato).
  • Qualifications: Ideal for candidates with some experience working with their hands.
  • Description: Interns will be trained on instructing and managing volunteers in a variety of tasks involving new home construction.  They will learn basic volunteer management and safe use of basic power tools among other construction related skill that will allow them to lead and work with groups of volunteers through the duration of the program.
